The Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education Program (TNCEP) is a nutrition education program for Tennesseans who receive SNAP benefits or for those who are eligible to receive SNAP benefits. TNCEP programs provide information about how to choose and prepare nutritionally adequate diets that help individuals stretch their food dollars. TNCEP is the SNAP-Ed program that is provided through UT Extension.
SNAP-Ed is an evidence-based program that helps people lead healthy, active lives. SNAP-Ed teaches people how to make their SNAP dollars stretch, how to shop for and cook healthy meals, and how to stay physically active. SNAP-Ed initiatives include nutrition education classes, social marketing campaigns, and efforts to improve policies, systems, and the environment of communities.
